The Primark shops are known for reasonable quality clothes sold at reasonable prices. Unfortunately it’s also become increasingly known as a place where perverts are taking advantage of Primark’s decision to abandon the idea of sex segregated changing rooms and implement ‘gender neutral’ ones.
This has meant that women have no idea whether there is a man in the next changing cubicle or whether there are unpleasant men waiting outside the changing room area. This is a situation that is most certainly worry-some and frightening for women.
The problem with Primark’s gender neutral changing room policy is that it has been a boon for bad men, the sort of men who get off either sexually or psychologically on making women feel uncomfortable. A good case in point is that of a young woman from the Cambridge area who went into her local Primark, took some clothes to the changing room to try on, only to find that she was twice interrupted by men opening the curtains of the changing room which she was in. The lady in question took to social media in a very distressed state to tell people that she no longer feels safe in the changing rooms of clothes shops.
Other people then came forward with other stories of Primark Perverts, some which have ended up with convictions and prosecutions for the miscreants who’ve invaded the personal spaces of women using Primark changing rooms. It turns out that there have been a large number of complaints about the goings on in Primark since they turned their changing rooms from ones segregated by sex to what is basically a free for all. The problem with this free for all with regards changing rooms is that they have become a magnet for sick and perverted men.
Primark seems to have handled this latest scandal to be associated with their changing rooms pretty badly. There have been some women alleging that Primark has not properly acknowledged either the potential dangers to women that comes from their gender neutral changing room policy or that women are worried about using these changing rooms.
Primark have obviously got themselves some seriously bad negative publicity from both the most recent and historical cases of their changing rooms becoming a magnet for male perverts. This company can get out of their current bind but it will take action on their part. It will take the company to reinstate sex segregated changing rooms and maybe ensure that there is a female member of staff nearby to the changing rooms to ensure the safety of women. Whether Primark do this or arrogantly decide to continue with a gender neutral changing room policy that is becoming increasingly disliked and mocked, remains to be seen. Primark is cursed with being a magnet for perves and that is not a situation that any clothing shop that wants to make a profit should allow to continue.
I find this interesting from a male point of view. I used to have gym membership that allowed me to swim at three council run gyms. These gyms had communal changing rooms which meant that you had to shower with your swimming trunks on and get changed in a tiny changing cubicle. I later joined a private gym, much more expensive but it opens at 6:00am so I could swim before work. The segregated changing rooms are just so much better, I can shower properly and can change in the open space. There are cubicles for those who want them but there don’t need to be as many so they are much bigger, parents with kids often use them. I would suggest that private gyms are more customer focused than council run ones. If Primark starts losing customers because of this, their customer focus will be put to the test by whatever they do next.
Is it possible the systems we have in place for such things which have served us well for generations were put in place for very good reasons?
Agree there. However it’s quite possible to support equality between the sexes without erasing sex differences or those accommodations for differences that are necessary. Such erasure is what the left and the cult of trans want to do.
Sounds like this type of problem will take care of itself…soon the only customers will be the pervy guys.
Then the companies profits will fall and staff at Primark will lose their jobs because of that. Far cheaper and more effective would be for Primark to stand up and admit that they got conned by the Troons into having gender neutral changing rooms and make a big thing about bringing back sex segregated changing rooms.
