Back in November 2017 I did some digging into the background and activities of a nasty bunch of Leftist censorious authoritarians called Stop Funding Hate. You can read part one and two of the article that emerged from this digging here and here.

This Stop Funding Hate group exists to pressure advertisers to stop advertising with publications that the Stop Funding Hate Group either don’t like or which carry stories that run counter to the leftist narrative followed by the members and supporters of this group. This is not a group that believes in any meaningful way in concepts such as freedom of speech. The fact that this group is willing to work with other censorious groups such as Citizens UK, about whom I say a more appalling bunch of open borders promoters and Islam fellators would be hard to find, is also a matter of concern for anyone who is concerned about freedom of speech. This association with bigger and more powerful and well connected groups such as Citizens UK has given Stop Funding Hate a lot more political clout than the size and support that this group has would generally provide.

Stop Funding Hate came into my view again back in 2021 when this group was whining about the then new GB News channel. Stop Funding Hate and its activists went hell for leather to try to deprive GB News of advertisers before the channel had even got going. The censors of Stop Funding Hate were trying to strangle a voice that ran counter to their views before it had had a chance to speak. Such behaviour is so very typical of the authoritarian mess the modern Left has become.

Stop Funding Hate is also very similar to other leftist anti-freedom organisations in where it gets its funding to operate. According to a Daily Mail article from June 2021 Stop Funding Hate got money from the Joseph Rowntree Trust, an entity that dishes out a lot of dosh to various left wing, refugee and ethnic minority organisations. A look at the database of grantees put up by the Joseph Rowntree Trust is a real eye-opener. There doesn’t seem to be an anti-British, anti-free speech, pro-migrant cause that they don’t like or don’t fund. It also funds they Citizens UK’s ‘Safe Passage’ programme which amongst other things provides legal help for those who claim ‘refugee’ status and which also bangs on about the ‘child refugees’ (yes you know, the ‘child refugees’ that seem to have suspiciously full beards) stuck in mainland Europe who want to get to the UK.

Stop Funding Hate are a dangerous organisation with respect to things such as freedom of speech, they are inherently censorious and have worked with and linked to other entities that want to silence any criticism, debate and challenge to their own left wing or identitarian narratives. They are a bunch of bad faith actors on our political scene.

But, as bad as Stop Funding Hate are, there is worse to come. What they’ve done is come out fighting for the extremely questionable Mermaids child gender transition group, a charity that is currently under investigation by the Charity Commission for counselling young girls on how to acquire breast binders and hide their use of breast binders from their parents. This is something that really should make anyone who cares about the well being and safeguarding of children extremely concerned.

The information about Stop Funding Hate’s support for Mermaids came from a Tweet that the Stop Funding Hate group put out and which is featured in an excellent piece by Graham Linehan over on his Substack pages. Here’s the Tweet in question:

The Linehan piece accused Stop Funding Hate of ‘lying by omission’ in their Tweet as it gives the impression that Mermaids is being targeted for ‘abuse’ for no reason whatsoever. Stop Funding Hate make no mention of the fact that Mermaids has been the subject of a number of safeguarding scandals.

I must admit that it is odd for Stop Funding Hate to not mention that Mermaids is not exactly seen as a clean hands organisation and that there have been criticisms aimed, by parents, doctors and those concerned about child safeguarding, at Mermaids. Stop Funding Hate do not mention any of the context in which any criticism which is aimed by members of the public. Stop Funding Hate make it seem as if Mermaids is being subjected to vehement criticism unjustly.

Graham Linehan has asked a very important question of Stop Funding Hate and that is ‘who is the groomer at Stop Funding Hate’? He’s correct to ask this. Someone in Stop Funding Hate decided to run support for a group that only a week or so before had been revealed to have a pro-paedophile academic sitting on their management committee.

Graham Linehan said of Stop Funding Hate and its support for Mermaids:

Again, the tactic is to lie by omission. From reading this, one would never know that Mermaids has been the subject of a string of safeguarding scandals. So here’s my question. Who is the groomer at Stop Funding Hate? Is it the person who wrote the above tweet, or the person who told them to write the tweet? Why are they pretending there is no safeguarding scandal around the closure of the Tavistock or the paedophile trustee, or any of the other matters these newspapers have, thank God, brought to light?

Why has an organisation that is very much concerned about squashing freedom of speech and freedom of the Press, for that is what Stop Funding Hate is, gone out on a limb and given support for an organisation which has been heavily penetrated by pro-paedophilia supporters and their fellow travellers? It’s baffling. Mermaids has been in my view fatally compromised, it’s a poison chalice of an organisation which any sensible campaigning entity, no matter where they sit on the political spectrum should want nothing to do with. Not so Stop Funding Hate. Someone in this organisation decided that they should support Mermaids despite all the scandals, the questions to which I want to know the answer is who and why? Is there really someone in Stop Funding Hate who is relaxed about breaking down barriers between adults and children on issues of sex, sexuality and gender, someone who is relaxed about grooming children, sometimes extremely distressed and vulnerable children, into the path of drugs and mutilation promoted by the Gender Identity Cult? There are a whole load of decent children’s charities that Stop Funding Hate could have taken the time to support but they did not. Instead they jumped up to support the children’s charity that has a peadophile entryist problem. Odd that isn’t it?

As I said earlier, there are a lots of reasons why Stop Funding Hate are a bad organisation, with bad aims and immense hostility to the concepts of freedom of the press and of freedom of speech. But now they’ve sunk as low as they possibly can and have given public support to a group that seems to be positively stuffed with the sort of people (link NSFW) who you really would not trust to babysit your child.
