There are a lot of people out there whose first thought when confronted with malfunctioning mechanical stuff is to hit said mechanical stuff with a hammer to see if that improves things. It should however go without saying that if your first port of call with regards mechanical repair techniques is to ‘hit the item with a hammer’, then maybe you are probably not suited to a career in bomb disposal.
You might make a good candidate for the Tory party at the next election though :-))
Stand for the Tories! In their current state? I think I’d much rather take my chances with being the percussive maintenance person in the bomb disposal squad.
If they can actually find candidates in many areas I feel sure the poor saps will be regarded as disposable useful idiots. Paper candidates put up just to avoid the embarrassment of not being able to field anyone.
The party might still be able to find candidates for Parliament, as there are enough ambitious individuals who want to be there regardless of party. They might even be able to find enough bodies to be councilors, but they will suffer when it comes to having enough people to run an effective ground game come election time.
