There’s a brilliant comment below the line on Harry Storm’s excellent piece at the Harry’s Place site on the selective reporting, or rather non-reporting, for ideological reasons, of a gender critical film by the editor of a student newspaper. Mr Storm’s piece is absolutely fabulous as he completely skewers activist journalists like the student newspaper editor in question and is one that is well worth reading. You can find the piece via this LINK.
However what sticks with me is a BTL comment by a poster by the name of Miles Meagre which also sticks the boot into media types who slavishly follow and promote identitarian ideologies. He starts by quoting from Mr Storm’s main piece about how ‘intellectual claptrap’ has taken over academia and goes onto tell of how, in the past, journalists, no matter what their own political views were, at least attempted to report the news with some degree of accuracy. Here’s the quote from Mr Meagre and after reading it you will understand why I’ve decided that this is my quote of the day. Mr Meagre is correct when he says that it is time to see this sort of thing for what it is which is the ‘tyranny of the playground’ and something we should not take at all seriously.
