There’s a good piece over at the Daily Telegraph by Sherelle Jacobs who has said that the Blairite, centrist consensus is ‘disintegrating under the weight of its own contradictions’. Many may say that Ms Jacob’s is correct in her view that this centrist and Blairite narrative about Britain’s story is collapsing. Ideas such as ‘unity in diversity’ and the concept that we are better off being led by a ‘benign elite of technocratic moderates’ seem to be falling apart on contact with rude reality.
