A nice little spy thriller from 1964 for you this week called ‘Night Train to Paris’. Starring Leslie Nielsen, in a straight rather than comic role for a change and Alizia Gur this is the story of a former spy who is now an airline public relations man in London who takes an intelligence job on as a favour for his old boss.
He’s been given the job of taking a tape of computer data about defence plans to Paris and because all flights are booked up he has to take a Ski Special boat train from London. However both before he leaves and on the train, he finds himself in a web of intrigue and a multitude of double crosses.
I like a lot of things about this movie. I like the lighting and camerawork as well as the pacy script. I especially liked the Jazz soundtrack that adds a particularly sleazy feel to the movie and the typography and graphic design on the titles.
Hope you enjoy this movie as much as I have. See you all on Sunday Morning.
