An interesting statement from Professor Matt Goodwin about his future plans.

Professor Matt Goodwin

Professor Matthew Goodwin’s book Values Voice and Virtue has taken Britain by storm and is a book that I reviewed yesterday. He has pointed out in his book the existence of a ‘new elite’ and that elite has kicked back at him in a way that highlights the existence of this new elite

Professor Goodwin has recently put out a video on social media stating that he’s starting something new and wants other people involved. He pointed out in the video the problems with Britain’s out of touch liberal/left elite and how it cares little or nothing for the ordinary Briton.

There’s very little detail about what he’s planning from the video below but I’ve little doubt that it will be both interesting and worth keeping an eye on. If he can create a mass movement of people who want to get ideology out of schools, protect our borders and turn back the tide of destructive wokery then he will be doing a great deal of good.

I’m certainly going to keep an eye on what Professor Goodwin is working on as there’s a great need for some counterbalance to a British state that seems to have drunk every flavour of Lefist Kool-Aid there is.

Thanks for that “Hat Tip” very interesting, I always had a feeling that we ( the plebs) were
being played a tune to dance to for the the The Pied Piper of Hamelin.
Thanks once again, I will order his book to get a greater understanding.

Professor Goodwin’s book is absolutely excellent. It’s not just a polemic, although I enjoy those occasionally, it’s a polemic with a lot of data quoted to back up the views.

The creation of today’s modern elite may not be a deliberate act but merely the natural outcome of like hiring like and the creation of viewpoint bubbles in which everyone in that bubble agrees with each other but those in this bubble have little grounding and little reference to the outside world.

      • Yes, but I am still seeing Matt as a nasty little weasel faced political opportunist, and I say this in the spirit of his support of Free Speech.

This ‘revolution’ he is promoting seems to be nothing than wanting people to subscribe to his Substack. This is an arrogant move in the first place as although he offers a 7 Day Free Trial he is implying there is something special about him worth listening to. If people are bugeting for subscriptions it would make more sense to me to go to the Spectator for instance which has a far winder range of content and views.

I agree with you that the Speccie does have a broad range of writers and that’s in its favour. I was very impressed with Professor Goodwin’s book and I’m interested in what he might have planned. He might be getting more subs for his stubstack but I don’t begrudge him that, in the current climate re freedom of speech the professor needs to have an alternate income stream should his academic work get stymied by his opponents in academia. What I suspect might be happening is that the professor is looking to get more people involved in the debate about the future of British politics on his substack and out of that will come something more tangible. It’s mindful to remember something that Professor Goodwin said recently about the new academic freedom / university free speech law and that although this is something that will benefit many, including those on the left, this legal change was achieved by a small group of people working hard and in a focused manner on the goal which was increasing free speech in universities. I’m going to keep an eye on what he’s doing but I suspect that some of what emerges might be similar to small very focused groups targeting particular individual societal problems.
