The Left are fond, very fond, of declaring that Black and Gay lives matter. The Left and their handmaidens and supporters in the media will jump up and down in anger when a Black or a Gay person is attacked and where the reason for the attack is seen as down to the race or sexuality of the victim.

However, as Douglas Murray points out in an article for the New York Post, when a genuine crime one driven by hatred of a Black Gay man is committed by a member of a group that the Left favours, then the Left are utterly and completely silent. Mr Murray is commenting in his piece on a horrific murder of a Black Gay man who was dancing whilst filling his car with petrol in New York City. It turned out that some Muslim men who objected to this man and his friends dancing turned on the victim and killed him. It is quite clear from reading Mr Murray’s piece that the victim was killed primarily because of his sexuality. There are at least two witnesses, one who was part of the victim’s friendship group and another who was the petrol station attendant who claim that the murder was carried out by the Muslims because the victim was gay.

Mr Murray quite rightly points out in his article that if this Black Gay man had been killed because of his inherent characteristics by anyone else other than a Muslim then they would have gone to town condemning it. But because it’s a Muslim who is allegedly suspected of this man’s murder they say little or nothing about it.

This is yet another example of the modern left’s horrific double standards and shows that too many on the Left will not speak out even about an obvious wrong if challenging the wrong also challenges the leftist narrative. The Left of today no longer care about Black people nor do they care that much for Gays, all they care about is having power over others.
