'I say Caruthers! It says here that Mr Fahrenheit has returned after a technical cock up. Fire up the new set of valves'

A failing computer is a bit like a failing car. You can keep it limping along until something big comes along that knocks the machine out. My previous computer had done well but had got to the point where I had to recognise that it was time for the computer to go to the F211 old tech museum aka The Loft where, after a short time, it will be repurposed into a media player.

What knocked my old computer out was graphics or rather the resources required to do graphics stuff and speed of file transfer. Therefore I’ve had to bite the bullet and get a new PC and it’s taken a little time to get it up and running as I would like.

So far the machine, which has billions of the amount of RAM as the first PC I sat at, is doing well and unlike the last one the fan is not struggling like a steam wagon up a steep hill.

I’ve also replaced my keyboard for one where the keys do not stick although as I’m someone who was trained to type on a big cast iron Imperial typewriter and therefore have a tendency to hit keys hard, I expect this keyboard to last the customary six months after such treatment.
