A plot to target Taylor Swift concerts in Vienna, Austria that was busted by the security forces was, as many of us might have expected, nothing to do with the Methodists. It was on the other hand, as we could reasonably have presumed it would be, everything to do with Islam.

We can understand this because of the choice by the alleged plotters to engage in ultra violence in the name of their religious cause. We know it because of the unconcern by the plotters about the deaths of innocent people that this attack would have caused had the Austrian police and security services not intervened when they did. The choice of ultra violence and a blatant disregard for human life are all hallmarks of Islamic terrorism and we’ve sadly seen numerous examples of this terrorism since the turn of the century. However what clearly marks this plot out as being thoroughly Islamic in ideological underpinnings is the choice of the target. The target was a famous young woman who is extremely popular with other young women. Ms Swift’s concerts are synonymous with women and girls enjoying themselves and there are few things more disturbing (apart from the existence of Jews) to the jihadist mindset than that.

Brendan Morrow writing in USA Today said:

A suspect accused of plotting a terrorist attack at Taylor Swift’s concerts in Vienna intended to kill “as many people as possible” outside the stadium, according to officials.

The 19-year-old Austrian, who police arrested on Wednesday in connection with the foiled plot targeting a Swift show at Ernst Happel Stadium, had planned an attack on fans involving “bladed weapons as well as the construction of a bomb,” according to a press release provided by the Vienna Federal Ministry of the Interior on Thursday.

During a search of the suspect’s home, officials found “chemical substances, liquids, explosive and technical devices that could be used to manufacture explosives,” said Franz Ruf, director general for public security. Bomb-making instructions and machetes were also found.

“He wanted to carry out an attack in the area outside the stadium, killing as many people as possible using the knives or even using the explosive devices he had made,” according to national intelligence head Omar Haijawi-Pirchner.

The suspect, who had recently quit his job and said he had “big plans,” swore allegiance to ISIS and fully confessed to the charges against him, officials said.

No doubt at all that this particular savage is a distinctly Islamic savage. He wanted to stab and blow up little girls at a concert just like the Islamic savage who murdered nearly two dozen people and injured many more in the Manchester Arena bomb attack of 2017. Islamic extremism is a danger to all our children whether they be in Manchester, London, Vienna or Jerusalem. They do not see our children as children but as sub-human kuffar. These Islamic extremists are monsters in human form following an ideology as monstrous as National Socialism or Communism.

There is one particular aspect of this case that is particularly troubling. As well as the Islamic savage discussed above, there was also an accomplice and this accomplice had managed to get a job with the facilities management company who is contracted to work at the venue where Taylor Swift was due to perform.

Mr Morrow added:

Police also arrested a 17-year-old who was employed by a facility management company that would have been on duty during Swift’s concert, officials said. A 15-year-old was detained and questioned by police, as well. Officials are not searching for any more suspects.

This is extremely disturbing. One of these fifth columnists managed to get himself into a position that would have given him privileged access to the venue and maybe would have allowed him to bypass some or all of the security procedures. This should have implications for all those who run venues and who supply services to them. They are now going to have to worry about whether or not one of their employees is a covert terrorist. How will they deal with this added level of threat? I suspect that at the least there will be calls for more enhanced vetting of facilities staff and that is going to put the costs up for venues and suppliers.

This time an Islamic massacre has been prevented but they will try and try again why is why we need to be constantly on our guard against them.
